Credit Risk Analyst

The Role

As the Credit Risk Analyst at HHF, you will be the Subject Matter Expert in the company, advising and implementing the risk management of the portfolio. Sitting within the IT function, you will provide the second line of defence in Credit Risk, liaising with departments across the business, including Credit Underwriting, to monitor the risk profile, and providing insightful analytics and decision support to the Analytics Manager. You will support development and analysis of credit scorecard(s), policy rules and monitoring information, and be able to research and advise on SME leasing/ asset finance market conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth and insightful analytics, from new business to arrears management
  • Analyse portfolio trends and make recommendations to improve the application process and operations processes, with awareness of balancing revenue opportunity and risk appetite
  • Support Application and Behavioural Scorecard development, and develop/support development of insightful Risk Monitoring across portfolio
  • Assist in Stress testing of portfolio performance, as well as monitoring/developing Arrears analytics and forecasting
  • Regular monitoring information completion for the Credit Risk Committee

 

Required skills and experience

Essential:

  • Educated to a degree level in a related field (Maths/Statistics/Data Science)
  • Strong statistical software experience – SAS/STAT/R/SPSS/SQL
  • Excellent analytical skills: adept at sourcing data from numerous sources and transforming it into actionable insight
  • Experience with Tableau/Qlik – Data visualisation software

 

Desirable:

  • Experience with Limited and Non Limited credit rating data for Scorecard review and monitoring (Experian/CreditSafe/Equifax etc))
  • Experience in SME leasing / Asset Finance
  • Ability to manage stakeholders expectations and communicate essential information
  • Ability to work independently and think strategically, driving risk management across the business
