Assistant Management Accountant

An opportunity to join Wales’s largest independent finance house is now available for a motivated and hardworking individual here at Henry Howard Finance. As one of the UK’s leading finance provider for SMEs, we are looking for a professional who will reinforce our company values and support our rapid growth plans.

Reporting into our Management Accountant, you will support the delivery of our Financial controls and improvement projects. In our fast-paced, growing environment you will have an opportunity to make a significant impact on the department’s objectives and contribute to the wider success of the business.

Roles and Responsibilities

* Manage, coach and develop accounting analysts

* Support all aspects of the accounting cycle including month end, year-end, financial statements and annual audit

* Lead the development of an effective financial control environment, including generation of month end packs and control packs

* Lead development of an effective financial control environment within the wider business with a specific focus on data governance

* Lead first line of defence routines to test the effectiveness of the control environment

* Represent the finance department on all business led projects, driving a valued add contribution to the project

* Identify and lead finance led projects to drive development of the function

Skills and Qualifications

* Qualified accountant/progressing towards (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)

* Accountancy experience

* Financial control experience preferred

* Project experience as a Finance subject matter expert preferred

* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

* Ability to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure

* Ability to multi task and re prioritise tasks throughout the day, effectively managing conflicting priorities

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with and influence other team members and stakeholders

* Works as part of a team, demonstrating co-operation and flexibility

* Be driven by a restless curiosity
