HHF Finance director triumphs at industry awards

Mark Burn, our group chief finance officer and group Board member, has been named the very first Finance Director of the Year at the prestigious IoD Wales Director of the Year Awards 2017.

The annual Awards, which celebrate business achievements and inspirational leaders from across Wales, saw three new categories added this year, including Finance Director of the Year.

In total, 14 business professionals from a number of sectors were recognised at a ceremony in Cardiff’s SWALEC Stadium on 19 May, including Celtic Manor Resort chairman and entrepreneur, Sir Terry Matthews, and Cardiff Airport’s chief executive, Debra Barber.

Commenting on his win, Mark said: “I’m delighted to be named Finance Director of the Year and to be recognised by IoD Wales. I feel privileged to contribute to the tremendous effort by all of the team at HHF, who have supported the business as it has evolved from a brokerage, to an established funder with its own balance sheet.

With thanks to good governance at the highest level, the finance team have freedom to balance common sense alongside strict financial discipline.’’

Mark was nominated by colleagues for not only ensuring financial excellence, but also for proactively contributing to decisions made by managers and staff across the business.

Mark Crook, group chief executive officer at Henry Howard Finance, added “Since joining us in 2014, Mark has supported our considerable investment and growth, through first rate leadership of our finance team.

Our high standards of financial excellence continue to drive the success of the business, and this supports our outperformance of traditional lenders.’’
