Henry Howard Finance (HHF) has won UK Government recognition for its commitment to data security following accreditation from Cyber Essentials Plus.
Cyber Essentials, a UK Government information assurance scheme operated by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), encourages organisations to adopt good practice in information security.
HHF has been awarded the scheme’s higher standard, Cyber Essentials Plus, further raising its cyber defences as an organisation in the process.
Established in 1996, HHF is one of the most advanced national funders in the market and has over 20 years of proven expertise in supporting UK-based businesses with competitive finance packages, quick decisions and fresh, innovative solutions.
Gavin Dowding, Head of IT at HHF, said: “It has been a great team effort here at HHF to achieve this accreditation, and as colleagues we’ve worked very hard to make it happen.
“We are delighted to have achieved the higher Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation, therefore, as a clear demonstration of HHF’s ongoing commitment to data security.”
Cyber Essentials was developed in collaboration with industry partners including the Information Security Forum (ISF), the Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises Consortium (IASME) and the British Standards Institution (BSI), and is endorsed by the UK Government.
It includes an assurance framework and a set of security controls such as firewalls, malware protection and secure configurations to protect information from threats coming from the internet.
Cyber Essentials Plus certification is achieved when all of an organisation’s IT systems have been independently tested and shown to have integrated these controls throughout its information risks management operations by an external assessor.
Anne Williams, COO at HHF, said: “It is no secret that we are an organisation which prides itself on our use of technology in order to deliver the best experiences for its business finance customers.
“Achieving Cyber Essential Plus certification and, ultimately, UK Government recognition, clearly demonstrates to both our customers and staff that the IT systems and processes which support us are more robust than ever.”
Henry Howard Finance has more than 20 years’ experience in the SME finance market and employs more than 140 people throughout the UK who work to provide flexible finance packages for small and large companies.
